Osun APC To Lift Ban As The State Chairman Sets To Meet Would-be Aspirants This Week

In preparation towards September 22 governorship election in Osun state, the state APC working committee is to hold an important  meeting with the party’s would-be guber aspirants this week.

The state APC Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famoodun made this known while responding to questions and making clarifications at the ‘Ogbeni Till Daybreak’ event on Saturday.

Famodun said the aspirants will be briefed regarding the basic guidelines set by the party for campaigns in order to avoid untoward developments.

While giving the assurance that the aspirants will campaign and seek the support of party members in all the local government areas of the state, Famodun said no aspirant would be given any undue recognition at the expense of others.

Meanwhile, this disclosure was followed by mixed reactions from the party faithfuls at the event, while some were saying the action was long overdue considering what they considered as outright violation of party's directive on the part of some aspirants that have started campaigning around, some said it is in the best interest of the party.

As it is, observers in Osun politics believed that the party should be able to lift ban on campaign this week to allow its aspirants canvassing  for supports from delegates in building-up to the party's primary election.

  1. Many thanks to the Party and the Governor for allowing a level playing ground. I urge the to go a step further by appealing to aspirants from other senatorial districts to concede to Osun west in the interest of fairplay.
